Hello! :D I go by mcc, I also post on Tigsource and I am "@mcclure111" on Twitter. I have been making games for the last few years under the name
RUN HELLO. I made one game that people seemed to like a few years back, called Jumpman (no, not that Jumpman); then I ported it to the iPhone. I have been spending the time since trying to create some kind of follow-up, with limited success. I have created some interesting prototypes, including one big WIP game that's maybe half done, but nothing that seems close to a completed game just yet (though I did get a little drum machine program released a couple months back). I am trying to get better about (1) doing small one-off projects instead of everything being a huge waterfall-style project and (2) being more willing to post my stuff publicly, so I am hoping I can make some progress on that via regular posting here :)
I am more a programmer than anything else, so my main interest is in trying to find ways to use innovative applications of technology (read: ENGINE GIMMICKS) to present surprising or unique experiences. I am a fan of minimalism both for its own sake and because it covers up my limited artistic ability, so I have adopted a sort of Apple // Only Futuristic aesthetic for most of my projects that I think works pretty well. I would like to move indie games beyond slavish fetishism of the NES era and into also exploring slavish fetishism of the 2600/Spectrum/Apple // era.
I have lately started trying to post as much of my source code as possible on
bitbucket.
