Make a game. Started on September 1st, finishes on September 30th. The theme is mysticism. You may work alone or in groups.

If you haven't made games before, and aren't sure where to start on the technical side of things, just ask : there're plenty of people here who can give guidance.

When you do decide to post about your game, say it's called "Cats Under Fire", post a thread about it with the title "Mysticism Pageant - Cats Under Fire". When you've finished it, edit the first post to give it a new title - something like "Mysticism Pageant - Cats Under Fire [ DONE ]".

Oh wow! A theme I am occassionally completely obsessed with.
I don't know if I'll be able to enter, because of particularly unshakable Proteus commitments this month.
Maybe I can just submit Proteus under a different name? :P

How much knowledge do you have about mystical movements? If you're looking for some inspiration, and don't know about him already, go have a read about someone like swedenborg. I find, occasionally theosophical writings to be very engaging, and for a while was quite appreciative of sufism.

Some of the first "games" (or at least, game components) might have derived from divinatory (i.e. mystical, obv) practices.

On a different note, "World systems" seem to me to be inherent to games and mysticism. Procedural generation? Perceiving the underlying order of the world? Randomness? Fate?
